Freedom In Black And White 1 by kReEsTaL Freedom In Black And White 1 by kReEsTaL
Ok guys. This is the first photograph from the "Freedom In Black And White" series I made with ~FeA-OLoReA. I'm about to upload the whole series to Aenemya.com soon.

Remember, I'm completely new to film photography. I used a black and white film (400 ISO) with my Nikon FM2. We spent about two hours and a half on that desert and cold shore that day... Cheeks became red and hands frozen, but memories still lie beneath our hearts. Despite this, we had a terrific time. We were completely free to jump to the sky and to trace hopes in the sand, to dance until there was no strength left in our bodies, until our souls were fulfilled. Sea and us promised to meet again, one day.

And yes, there is grain, there are stains, it's not sharp, it is highly imperfect on many levels; it is over-exposed, and it is too dark. But... it was a perfect moment.
That's why I didn't want to edit this at all, it's raw, just as it is on the original print. One second of a beautiful winter afternoon.

I'm not sure there is much to say about this, everything has been said on that shore, between Her, her and me. And the silence was imposing. And I don't want to stay here. And I want to go back there. And I already miss Wind biting my naked skin...

:pointr: what do you mean?

Yes I like the FM2, too, even though it's heavy, thus it's not always handy. But it sure does pretty pictures! :)

Thanks for the comment & fav ^^

Thank you! I'm glad you noticed the "natural" way, because it wasn't a sophisticated shoot at all, just the model, the sea, the camera, and me. No flashes, no filters, no make-up artist, no hairdresser. :giggle:

don`t make it worser than it is.
i think its a beautiful emotional portrait and sometimes (like in this case) the fact that its not technically perfect, just adds to the wonderful atmosphere you`ve created with it. even the lens flares and the somekind lack of composition adds to it.
i don´t think at all its overexposed. its almost perfect, cause you still have some textures in the black jacket. you can`t have the background rightly exposed as the foreground without filter or flashes, so, as i said, don`t make it worser than it is.
wonderful try. just keep it on!

Hi Kamil, thank you for taking time to critic my photographs! I appreciate it a lot.
What kind of filters/flashes would you recommend me to expose the background rightly exposed? In this case, I really wanted the flares. But what if I didn't want them?

i`m not a fan of direct flashes at all. you should look to get remote flashes in the best case, but actually i can`t recommend you a special one, cause i haven´t got the money to buy one myself, so i haven´t informed myself at all...
just some reflectors would be great too:hug:

Oh what a pity the flare, next time try using a lens hood - your lens surely has a proper one - to avoid those nasty ugly flares. But besides that :)
