Houses of the Holy

"Houses of the Holy" is the first real work I made with 90% digital painting. The desert and the tree have been digitally painted, and some parts of the sky and the clouds, too. It was very interesting to try out a new technic, it learnt me a lot, and I can't wait to try it again! ^^ The title "Houses of the Holy" comes from the famous Led Zeppelin album. In fact when my boyfriend stared at this image for the first time, he told me that it reminded him "Houses of the Holy" because of the castle and its mystic aura. However, I could not find any other title! ^^ I'm very proud of myself, I never thought I would one day achieve a digital painting like this. The castle was made using a stock photo by ~Luna-Mora-stock (who have always a great stock!). I used personal photographs as models in order to paint the desert, the sky and the tree. I also drew the birds. I mostly listened to Tori Amos and to Faith and the Muse creating this painting, music always inspires me a LOT!
