At least an update in kReEsTaL's world! I have to say I've been pretty busy with my
memoire,
my blog and my several online projects. Everything's taking good shape, I'm impatient to finish everything and start something new. Call it workaholism if you want

If I'm writing here today it's to share one of my recent discoveries with you:
"The Circus, 1870-1950", published by TASCHEN, might be the greatest book on Earth.
The book does not only provide an astounding collection of 670 pages and nearly
900 color and b&w illustrations and photographs, it also takes you back to the exciting time of the vintage circus phenomenon.
The Circus gathers
rare poster reproductions, photographs taken from the Kodak archives or borrowed from particular collections, as well as some brilliant typographical ephemera.
Organized in nine chapters, the
multilingual texts focus on exotic beasts and freaks, on nature wonders such as acrobats and fire-eaters, on emancipated female performers, and on backstage complicity. Easy to read and well documented, The Circus will take you to the
pre-Hollywood era of American entertainment.
This XL book measures 30×45 cm, weighs 17.6 pounds, and is
beautifully printed and bound. Judge by yourself:
This book is a must-have for any circus, freaks, tattoo and nature wonders lover.
The Circus costs 150/$200, but since
Christmas is in less than 3 months, it might be a wonderful gift idea (for you or for a special friend)
I own the book, and I can't get enough. Everytime I look at it, I discover new pages, new pictures, and read some paragraphs. This is one of the most gorgeous books I own (and I own
a lot of art books).
